Welcome to my garden!

My mother and I are both avid gardeners of both decorative plants and food plants.  We would like to share with you a few pictures of what is growing in our garden right now - Spring 2003.

But first, here is a picture of us replanting some little bell peppers -

I'm the one on the right in the black shirt.

Memorial Day weekend we build this lattice to support a jasmine vine my mother bought.  The two main supports are left over from a failed grape arbor, and we added to them thin slats of wood for the vine to climb.

Here are some more recent pictures -

The plant is kinda scrawny, but my hibiscus is blooming beautifully.

Unfortunately my photography skills aren't good enough to capture this beautiful hydrangea.  The color is a beautiful dark blue with just a hint of purple in a few of the flowers

My day lilies are blooming - go here for pictures.

So, what we have growing right now (in addition to our bell peppers) is a few gladiolas, Louisiana Iris, some phlox, and a few snapdragons left over from last summer.

These glads are growing in the middle of the mint patch behind my house.

I've been nurturing an iris bog at the bottom of the front yard.  The Louisiana iris I have planted there are just beginning to bloom.

These phlox were a gift from a friend several years ago and they just get prettier every year!

Believe it or not, these snapdragons are left over from last year!  After the hard winter we had they came back with no problem and are blooming beautifully.
